As a rising professional George Hillyard has his eye set on becoming one of the greatest boxers in modern history. Boxing is in George’s blood, his grandad was a boxer and also his dad, but George was more into football when younger.
George played for Leyton Orient, Torquay and West Ham as a lad but turned to boxing when he was sixteen. George had a great career as an amateur, racking up a total of 49 fights, winning 39 and 10 losses.
He turned professional in 2005 and his record stands at 10-5-1 and George is excited about what the future has in store with commonwealth title bouts on the horizon.
George will be sharing his story and what drives his passion for boxing , His motivation being his young sons, Teddy and Oscar. In particular he is motivated by seeing Oscar's courage. Oscar was born partially blind and needs regular treatments at Great Ormond Street hospital, this is what fuels Georges fire within to reach the heights of boxing greatness.
